The Thrift Shop always appreciates donations of useful items that can be sold. Donations of household goods, working appliances, china sets or individual pieces, pots and pans, glassware, flatware, adult and children’s clothing and shoes/boots, jewelry, hardcover and paperback books, current magazines, National Geographic magazines, greeting cards, lamps, furniture, CDs, DVDs, tools, drapes, bed spreads, shams, blankets, comforters, and almost anything else from your house - except electronics and food - are always welcome. Receipts for income tax purposes can be provided on request. Donations can be left on the tables in the hall between Pedersen Hall and the Crypt. Clothing, shoes, working appliances, etc. that are not put out for sale are given to the Capital City Rescue Mission where useful items are given to the needy and clothing not suitable for further use is baled and sold for rags.

The success of this ministry depends on the providence of God seen in generous donations from the Cathedral congregation and the larger community (including many of our customers), friendships our volunteers have developed with the Shop’s customers, those loyal customers who we see every week, and to the dedicated volunteers who give of their time and talents week in and week out.
