Norville Family Fundraiser
thanks be to god! over $30,000 and counting.
A group of friends of the Norville family came together for a fundraising event for the family from 3:00-6:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 15.
The Norvilles have been dealing with health issues that have beset their youngest daughter, Lindsay, for more than 10 years now. Lindsay has already undergone one liver transplant, and the family is now in Iowa City, Iowa awaiting a second liver transplant that will hopefully be the key to a return to health for Lindsay.
Years of dealing with travel costs, hotel stays, and co-pays for doctors, lab tests, emergency rooms, urgent care facilities, and hospitals have put this wonderful family under significant stress. They are givers, not takers, though, and have never asked anything of anyone but prayer.
Some of their friends at the Cathedral have been mindful of what the stresses on our wonderful friends have been like, and approached the family for their permission to start a fundraising effort on their behalf in order to deal with some past obligations, and to help with expenses during the extended period they will need to spend in Iowa after the transplant surgery. They have (reluctantly) agreed.
The event on May 15th was a simple gathering, returning some of the love that they have shown us over the years. Please feel free to give what you can. We have established a suggested minimum donation of $25.00 for this event, but no amount is too small. Please make checks payable to "Cathedral of All Saints", with the designation "Norville Fund" on the memo line. Food, beverages, and raffle items are all donated, and all proceeds from this event will go to the family. Checks with the same designation may also be mailed to the Cathedral office. Additionally, donations may be made through a GoFundMe page that has been established to support this effort.
The Norvilles have shown their love and support for many of us in many ways for many years. This effort is simply a way for those of us who have been blessed by their love to show them how much they mean to us all. God bless all of you who help with this effort.
