About the Cathedral
Welcome to the first great Cathedral built in the Episcopal Church. Begun in 1884, and opened for worship in 1888, this church has been a place of daily worship for over one hundred years. Here, day by day in corporate prayer and in private devotion, we celebrate our faith that Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. And we proclaim to the world that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself.
The Cathedral of All Saints is the seat of the Episcopal Bishop of Albany. His Cathedra, or chair, is here, near the High Altar, and the cathedral exists to assist the Bishop's ministry and to serve his Diocese, which comprises nineteen counties of upstate New York. The Cathedral of All Saints is also the spiritual home of a local congregation which welcomes you into its fellowship and ministry.
