The Hidden Cathedral Poetry Festival has been POSTPONED UNTIL APRIL 24, 2021. Please check the Cathedral Arts Blog for three videos from our keynote speaker, Marly Youmans, on Saturday, April 25, 2020. Marly will read poems from her lovely and magical book, The Book of the Red King, made more fantastic with artwork by Clive Hicks-Jenkins. We look forward to seeing Marly at the Hidden Cathedral Poetry Festival in 2021!

Description for the Hidden Cathedral Poetry Festival, April 24, 2021:

For poetry lovers and for those new to poetry—The Cathedral of All Saints welcomes you to our first poetry festival in our awe-inspiring space. Explore diverse ways in which poetry is written, understood and discussed and come away with a greater knowledge and appreciation of how it interacts with Christianity and faith. Enjoy a casual afternoon tea with live music by Jesse Frayne.

Dr. Leonard A. Slade, Jr.—poet, SUNY Albany professor and long-time member of The Cathedral of All Saints—will open the festival at 2:30 PM with a selection of his recent poems. Acclaimed poet and writer Marly Youmans is the keynote speaker.

John Wall Barger, Diane Cameron, Eugene Garber, Michael Joyce, Evan Craig Reardon, Luke Stromberg, and others will offer readings and workshops on a wide range of subjects such as writing poetry for the first time, Yoruba form, and Hebrew parallelism. Registration and sign-up for workshops starts at 2:00 PM.

Tickets are $20 and $25 at the door.
